Spartan is seeking an experienced Carrier Sales Representative to join our growing team. You will source and procure carrier services to move freight for our customers.  You must have a strong knowledge of freight rates and market trends and be experienced in negotiating with carriers.  Our carrier reps are also responsible for building carrier relationships and ensuring the on time pick up and delivery of all loads.

At Spartan, we make it easy for you to find loads, book trucks, and move forward.  In turn, we expect a strong sense of urgency and a keen attention to detail to ensure all carriers are satisfied and the job gets done.


·         Source and procure carrier services to move freight for our customers.

·         Develop an expertise in freight pricing and market trends.

·         Convert new relationships into repeat business.

·         Obtain timely updates from carriers to ensure on time pick ups and deliveries.

·         Network with inside sales representatives to match capacity with available loads.

·         Negotiate carrier rates.

·         Develop and maintain relationships with potential and current carriers.

·         Effectively plan to meet company targets and customer goals.


·         Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required.

·         1-3 years of experience

·         Proven negotiating skills

·         Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and successful with multi-tasking

·         Impressive analytical skills and attention to detail

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Competitive Salary plus commission.
